From the supplier: Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA) Chairperson Mary Ann Ridder has urged self-insurers to stop waiting and become politically active, especially in opposing Rep Fortney Stark's HR 5502 health insurance reform legislative proposal. The Stark bill prohibits businesses with less than 100 employees from establishing self-insuring health benefit programs that would cease in cases of employer insolvency. The SIIA opposes the bill and promotes self-insurance as the most cost-effective method of providing health coverage.
